Description:
As first-arriving in Siena, we will have a first stop by the second most important Church – dedicated to St. Catherin, followed by a familiarization tour of the old town, visiting its Piazza del Campo, where twice a year is held the horse race il Palio.
The major event for the Siena inhabitants that feel their passion for this race that takes place around the square from more than 800 years. The square is known as one of the most beautiful in Europe adorned by the Tower of Il Mangia and the Fountain Gaia.

Driving along via di Città, the major medieval road of Siena, we will reach the Cathedral of Siena, built on top of the Town, considered a Gothic dream for its architecture. Inside the church masterpieces from many famous artists of the past, enrich the whole Catholic temple. Above all, the inlaid marble floor that was realized in 200 years.

As up here, cars are no longer allowed, you will enjoy some free time on your own.

By then we would have provided you of all necessary information of thing to do and to see to stroll around the narrow medieval roads. Abandoning yourself looking at the medieval architecture will take you back in the centuries.

Leaving Siena, we will drive you to Monteriggioni, an impressive fortification built by the Siena Republic in the 13th century. It is a perfect ring of walls and tower, mentioned by Dante Alighieri in the Divine Comedy known as ” a Crown on a King’s Head”.

Today living here are only 42 inhabitants, the tiny village will require no much time, unless you do not decide to enjoy a nice lunch in one of the local family restaurants are here (lunch on your own to be reserved in advance).

Last but not least, San Gimignano, the town of the 13 medieval towers, famous for its architecture and arts known since the Etruscan Age. Today this jewel of town is famous as one of the nicest well kept intact medieval towns in Italy and all over the world. A good opportunity to feel the centuries in one of the Unesco Heritage of Tuscany.

Just in case you want to combine a day little bit longer, in this tour to Siena etc. we can include a visit of a winery of the Chianti, where their enologist will guide you in the farm, in the cellars and take you for a nice wine tasting, or, for referable home made lunch to better taste the wines and top break the day.
